I’m Ruth. I’m a 30 something Coventry wedding photographer. I love weddings, I guess most people do. I cry, I laugh, I smile, I adore, I admire, I hope, I anticipate, I get jealous, I empathise, I feel, I imagine and I take part. I love getting involved in your wedding day, I like to make you and your guests feel comfortable. Photographing a couple’s wedding day is such a privilege. This will be one of the greatest days of your life, the first day of the rest of your life together as a married couple, the combining of hopes and dreams of two people who strive to attain what they want in life. It’s amazing! I watch as two people stand in front of their friends and family and commit the rest of their lives to each other. I capture the moment as the bride walks down the aisle, the moment she has dreamt of for such a long time. I capture that look as two people see each other for the first time on their wedding day. I capture that moment when they are joined together as one – and it is so special, I never tire of it.

I’m married, Paul and I have been together since school, he’s my best friend, my soul mate. I can’t imagine being without him. Ever. We have 2 gorgeous cats, who are our babies. We’ve recently adopted 5 hens, who are unbelievably funny and follow me around the garden. They love treats (who doesn’t!?) and it’s so hard not to deny them some sweetcorn. I think the best quote that sums up my relationship with Paul is by Dr Seuss:

‘We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love’

I guess, what I’m trying to say is, every person is an individual. They bring their individuality to the relationship and this provides a grounding for love to blossom. Every wedding is individual and I respect that. I don’t tire of photographing wedding dresses, shoes, tiaras, cakes, order of services, flowers, because they are a representation of you as a couple, and they are all individual and I love that. I want to photograph your weirdness!
